Man to serve life sentence for violently attacking mini cab drivers in Hackney and Haringey

A man has been sentenced to life imprisonment for violently attacking mini cab drivers in Hackney and Haringey.

Mark Anthony Brown, 50, of St Ann’s Road, N15 was sentenced on 16th January 2015 at Snaresbrook Crown Court, to life imprisonment to serve a minimum term of five years.

He had earlier on pleaded guilty to four counts of robbery, which occurred between 3rd October and 13th October 2014.

Detective Constable Matt Mowbray, from Hackney Borough CID, said: “Brown’s actions have had lasting impact on his victims. His repeated attacks left other mini cab drivers in the area very fearful for their safety.

“I can only hope that this lengthy sentence serves to reassure the public, now that this dangerous man has been removed from the streets.”
