Nigeria’s Finance Minister Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala is “tired” of talking about kidnapped Nigerian schoolgirls.
In an interview with ABC News reporter, the minister not only appeared very reluctant but even went further to tell the reporter: “I’m tired of the same story”.
Really, how can a minister be tired of talking about more than 240 girls who have been kidnapped by Boko Haram – a dangerous terrorist group while the whole world is concerned?
Just recently Amnesty International accused Nigerian security forces of failing to act on advance warnings about Boko Haram’s armed raid on the state-run boarding school in Chibok which led to the abduction of more than 240 schoolgirls on 14th – 15th April.
Ms Okonjo-Iweala however confirmed the government’s commitment to trace the girls.
“The government is doing aerial surveillance, the government is working with companies that have satellites, the government is working with the US, the government is waiting for promised help from all the sources that have pledged,” she said.
She added: the “government is doing the maximum it can.”
Whether tired or not, #BringBackOurGirls!
