Face of Zimbabwe winner Nadine Hahn will represent Zimbabwe at the 20th edition of Top Model of the World in El Gouna, Egypt, from 17th to 31st March 2013.
The Harare model and former Miss Teen Zimbabwe won the Gtel-Face of Zimbabwe (Season 2) competition held at the HICC in December 2012, fending off competition from 15 other hopefuls which included winners from other national pageants such as Miss Curvy, Miss Global, Miss Universities and Miss Southern Africa.
Nadine’s appearance at the international showcase follows successful participation last year by former Miss Zimbabwe, Malaika Mushandu who was crowned First Princess of the same competition in 2012.
Luna Voce from Italy was crowned Miss Top Model of the World while Colombia’s Melina Ramirez Serna was second princess.
Commenting on Nadine’s participation, Face of Zimbabwe Marketing Director, Mike Tashaya said they were expecting Nadine “to better what Malaika did and bring the crown home.”
He added that they were “absolutely delighted to have discovered through Face of Zimbabwe, a contestant to represent Zimbabwe at such as highly regarded international pageant.”
The Face of Zimbabwe beauty has so far received corporate sponsorship for the trip from the Harare based mobile phone supplier, Gtel who were also the headline sponsors for the Face of Zimbabwe competition last year.
Nadine’s make-up will be supplied by Sleek-Make up and evening gown by leading fashion shop, Designer Closet.
In preparation for the event, Face of Zimbabwe has also sealed a sponsorship deal with Total Healthzone Gym who will put the model through a physical fitment regiment. The gym’s spokesperson said: “We, at the Total Healthzone Gym, are pleased to be associated with Face of Zimbabwe. We are helping Nadine with her fitness preparations for Top Model Of the World, which takes in Egypt in March 2013. We are very pleased with Nadine’s training and fitness progress, we will ensure she is fit and in shape when she goes to Egypt.”
Nadine will be coached by UK based international pageant director, Hilda Mulenga who is largely accredited with the success in international pageants of both Malaika Mashandu and Vanessa Sibanda.
“We are going all out to ensure that Nadine gets the best preparation she requires. When she is out there, she will be representing Zimbabwe. We hope the public will show her love and support throughout the competition as our tourism ambassador,” said Mr. Tashaya.
