AFRUCA – Africans Unite Against Child Abuse is looking to recruit a Family Support and Outreach Worker (FSOW) to support families in the London Borough of Newham to access and sustain engagement with clinical services, where there are indicators that the child has experienced abuse linked to belief in witchcraft and spirit possession.
The FSOW will also be responsible for undertaking outreach work within universal services to raise awareness of this form of child abuse.

FAMILY SUPPORT AND OUTREACH WORKER
Part time, One year Contract
Salary £26,000 PRO-RATA (21 hours a week)
Location: AFRUCA Head Office, London
The ideal candidate will have expert level knowledge of child abuse linked to witchcraft and spirit possession.
Must have extensive experience of Family Support work and at least 2 years’ experience of Community Outreach work.
Must be a self-starter, able to deliver impressive results.
Must have very good project management skills and be able to work closely with key partners.
Must have strong interpersonal skills to develop effective relationships with a wide range of people at all levels – from parents to senior local authority officials.
