Leicester Caribbean Carnival will take place on 6th August 2011.
In its 26th year, Leicester Caribbean Carnival is a celebration of Caribbean culture and art forms from other cultures in Leicester’s diverse community.
The family carnival parade begins with the official opening ceremony at Victoria Park then the procession continues through the pedestrianised area of Leicester City and finishes at the Carnival Village at Victoria Park.
This year’s carnival has the theme ‘Myths, Folklore and Culture’ with performances on the main stage in Humberstone Gate throughout the day.
There will be a ‘Gospel Fest’ featuring live music and dance at Town Hall Square with a cultural display at the Clock Tower.
The family day which starts at midday through to 8pm will include craft stalls, floats, troupes and food from around the world.
