Uganda’s Vice President Edward Ssekandi will lead the Ugandan delegation to the 4th Ugandan Investment Forum in London.
The Convention will be held at the Troxy Arena, 490 Commercial Rd, E1 0HX London, on 13th September 2014 from 09:00 to 19:00.
Organised by the Ugandan UK Convention, the event will bring together investors, business leaders, friends of Uganda and East Africa, and well-wishers.
More than 2,000 delegates are expected at the Convention whose theme is: “Uganda is open for business”. It will promote Uganda and East Africa as a favoured investment destination in Africa.
Delegates will have access to up-to-date information on the vast potential for investment that Uganda offers to both domestic and international investors.
They’ll also have a chance of meeting potential investors in order to identify funding options.
The Convention is aimed at supporting Uganda’s efforts to attract foreign direct investment and paint a candid and contemporary picture of the nation’s regulatory, business and investment climate.
There will be presentations on investment opportunities in various sectors such as Banking and Finance, Energy, Oil & Gas, Telecoms, Tourism, Education, Agriculture, Infrastructure Development, IT, Housing, Transport, Pharmaceuticals and Consumer Sectors.
Apart from Uganda’s VP, the Ugandan delegation will include Amelia Kyambadde, Minister of Trade and Investment; Daudi Migereko, Minister of Housing; Ruhakana Rugunda, Minister of Health (TBC); Irene Muloni, Minister of Energy (TBC); Dr. Frank B. Sebbowa, CEO of Uganda Investment Authority; and Amos Nzeyi, Chairman Pepsi-Uganda.
The UK delegation will include, Lord Popat and Lord Verjee, wealthy businessmen who will deliver talks on successful investments.
Nuradin Osman from Massey Ferguson Tractors, Switzerland, will give a talk on how to mechanize agriculture in Uganda.
Governor Cyprian O. Awiti of Homa Bay County in Kenya will lead the Kenyan delegation to the Convention. He will deliver a talk encouraging intra-trade between Kenya and Uganda and present opportunities in his area.
There will be an after-party and live concert featuring some of the best Ugandan musicians including Desire Luzinda, Judith Babirye, Ronald Mayinja, Stabua Natooro and many others.
