Black Leadership and Representation to be discussed at Labour meeting in Manchester

The role Black Leadership will play in the agenda of the next Labour government will be discussed at a special event organised by the Labour Black Network in Manchester.

Diane Abbott, MP for Hackney North and Stoke Newington will address the meeting

The event titled “Black Leadership and Representation for the 21st century: reclaiming our destiny” will be held on 21st September 2014 at Friends Meeting House, 6 Mount street, Manchester M2 5NS, from 16:00 to 18:00.

The meeting will be addressed by: Diane Abbott, MP for Hackney North and Stoke Newington; Sadiq Khan, MP for Tooting, Shadow Justice Secretary, Shadow Lord Chancellor and Shadow Minister for London; David Lammy, MP for Tottenham; Keith Vaz, MP for Leicester East, Chairman of the Home Affairs Select Committee; and Cllr Yvonne Mosquito, Deputy Police and Crime Commissioner for the West Midlands. Other guest speakers will be announced soon.

The free-to-attend event will be chaired by Professor Cecile Wright and Cllr Josie Channer.

The venue is located a short walk from the main Labour party conference venue, but is outside the secure zone, so you do not need a conference pass to attend.
