Pauline Long, the founder of BEFFTA (Black Entertainment Film Fashion Television and Arts) Awards has been nominated for Positive Role Model Award at the National Diversity Awards.
This is Ms Long’s first UK national mainstream recognition.
The National Diversity Awards is a prestigious black tie event which celebrates the excellence achievements of grass-root communities that tackle issues in today’s society, giving them recognition for their dedication and hard work.
A collection of some of the nation’s most inspirational and selfless people will gather to celebrate the country’s rich tapestry at the UK’s Largest Diversity Awards on 26th September 2014.
The Headline Sponsor of The National Diversity Awards 2014 is Microsoft while the Headline Media Sponsor is The Guardian.
Reacting to the news of her nomination, Ms Long, who is also the host of Pauline Long Show on BEN Television, said: “Being recognised by this nation is a huge achievement that my late grandfather will be extremely proud of. Hey grand-dad, I never got you that Italian designer shirt but today I’m taking your legacy to the next level. My grandfather was a total giver, a community man and I just want to be like him.”
