Learn how to trace your African and Caribbean family tree

A special event will be held in Hackney on how to trace your African and Caribbean family tree.

It will show you how to get started in family history and what resources are available locally in Hackney’s libraries and Hackney Archives.

Patrick Vernon will use his own family history to discuss the importance of records, maps and DNA in tracing his family history.

He will share details of his family history in Jamaica, DNA results and film footage of his travels to Africa.

To reserve a place, please send an email to archives@hackney.gov.uk or dial 020 8356 8925.

Every Generation Media is keen to record the family history and migration history of current or former residents of Haggerston as part of My Haggerston Routes Project.
