Caribbean performers needed for mega show in London

Do you want to be involved in a musical Olympic opportunity? BT River of Music are looking for singers to join the brand new collaboration Soul Caribbean.

Trumpeter and musical director Kevin Robinson would like to bring together an artist from every Olympic Caribbean island for a mega concert in London. Ska grooves and reggae will combine with energetic rhythms in an exploration of well-known repertoire.

BT River of Music are looking for singers who would like to join them on Jimmy Cliff’s “Many Rivers to Cross” to represent the following countries: Bermuda; British Virgin Islands (Tortola); U.S Virgin Islands (Leeward Islands); Cayman Islands; Dominican Republic; Haiti; Puerto Rico; and British Virgin Islands.

You will need to be available for rehearsals late afternoon into the evening on Friday 20th July 2012 and for the performance at Tower of London on Saturday 21st July 2012.

Part of the London 2012 Festival, the two-day free event will be a spectacular global summit of rhythm and song, that will act as a curtain-raiser for the sporting celebrations to follow on Saturday 21st and Sunday 22nd July 2012.

Featuring artists from all Olympic and Paralympic nations, from the largest nations to the tiniest ocean island, BT River of Music is one of the most ambitious musical events ever staged in the capital, and offers the UK’s residents and visitors a unique opportunity to sample a kaleidoscope of the world’s most vibrant music.
