Sign petition asking Home Office to stop removal of Ugandan lesbian

An online petition has been launched asking the Home Office to cancel the removal of Aidah Asaba, a young traumatised lesbian from Uganda.

Ms Asaba fled harassment and persecution in Uganda and sought refuge in the UK on the basis of her sexuality. Her case has been refused in the fast track system without being given a chance to find proper solicitors nor time to gather evidence.

Ms Asaba has received removal directions for Saturday 24th May 2014.

On 24th February 2014 the Ugandan President Yoweri Museveni signed the controversial Anti-Homosexuality Bill which includes life sentences for so-called ‘aggravated homosexuality’.

If sent back to Uganda Ms Asaba risks being arrested at the airport, detained and imprisoned for years.

The only way to save Ms Asaba is to sign petition asking the Home Office to cancel her removal directions and to agree to reconsider her case.
